Life of a journal @ 1st June to 10th of June
1st June:
Today I started to work on the site. The banner and overall color scheme were decided. A basic table setup
was created.
2nd June:
The menubar and its buttons were made with the help of some Photoshopping and some javascript hunting.
I have also decided to use Shockwave to enhance the banner with little animations that go by. This feature
will have an on/off button (location unknown). I have no idea when this feature will be finished as school and
holidays are going to be taking most of the time of my Summer holidays (Norway for the win!).
3rd June:
Found a simple, yet effective program called "Programmer's Notepad". This is mostly a normal notepad, but it highlights
the codes and the tags in the codes. It makes it really easy where the tags are, how deep the tables go etc! It even has a
minimize tool so I can see the top of the codes and the bottom, while keeping the same window. It's simple, free and effective.
I will be using this program to create the site.
5th June:
Set up the journal logs of the previous days. Trying to find a script to enter new journals via the internet.
Also tried to use div's, but since I'm completely unaware of everyone's screensize, I'm keeping it at tables.
Thinking of a way to show fonts that the visitors don't have, and don't have to download in order to see them.
In example, I use "ShelleyVolante" BT for the journal titles, but most people will see a different font. Shelley is the same
font I used for the banner.
Added different background coloring to even/odd numbered journals.
10th June:
Swapped journal logs. They now appear top-to-bottom new-to-old. Also some dates were altered into the correct ones.
School project is coming to an end and the pressure is really high. After that it's exams and some "loose ends" that need
to be finished. Because the school project is really heated up in the last few weeks, I haven't had much time. And there's
alot to be done: the banner, the rest of the site, the scheme's for the animation-section, the DA-section, the journal still
has to get a script to add new ones with ease.. so much to do and so little time.
